Es schaut zwar hochalpin aus, aber wir befinden uns nur auf ca. 300 m Seeh\u00f6he. Der Gletscher &#8220;kalbt&#8221; mit Get\u00f6se in den See, das hei\u00dft st\u00e4ndig brechen gro\u00dfe Teile an der Front ab. Um ca. 2 m schiebt er sich pro Tag nach. Er geh\u00f6rt zu den wenigen Gletschern, die nicht kleiner werden. Auf einem Bild kann man Wanderer sehen (sehen aus wie Ameisen), die eine kleine Gletscherwanderung machen.<br \/>\nEl Calafate hei\u00dft nach dem Calafate Busch, wie der aufmerksame Leser unschwer erraten kann. Dort wo jetzt der Ort ist, war einst ein Hain von Calafate B\u00fcschen, die dem Reisenden Windschutz auf der kargen Ebene boten.<br \/>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-1
